Unifyer Basics           FAQ's           Glossary
 
 
Log in:
     First-Time User:
  1. Log in to Unifyer: www.fbcunifyer.com
  2. Click Register Button
  3. You will be taken to new site
  4. Create a User Account
  5. Return to Unifyer login once created
  6. Input login information and click Login
   Return users:
  1.  Log on to Unifyer: www.fbcunifyer.com
  2.  Input Login information and click Login
 
 
Find your Activity:
  • Once inside, find your activity or camp in the News Feed Column located on the right, or search using keywords in the search box.
View the Latest Update:To view an activity (or news feed):     
  • Click on activity (called a news feed
  • You will be shown most current post
Once viewing an activity: To view pictures or video:
  • Click on the picture or icon and a new screen will appear
  •  Use the controls at the bottom of the pop up window for more control
  • To escape click the “x” at the top of the pop-up window.
To view additional posts:
  • Click archive
  • A list will appear on the right
  • Click an entry to view that post
Stay in Touch: 
  • Stay in touch with your activity by dragging the activity from the News Feed Column to the empty rectangles in the center of the news   page:
  • Go to the “News Page” (Get to the news page by clicking the “News” button at the top of Unifyer.) 
  • Find your activity in the News Feed Column on the right
  • Drag your activity by holding down the mouse button to the rectangles in the middle of the page
  • You will now receive email updates when posts are made to that activity
  •  You can subscribe to multiple events by dragging each one to the rectangles
  • To unsubscribe to an activity, simply drag the activity back to the News Feed Column
 
 
 
 
  1. What is Unifyer?  Unifyer is an online community designed as a way for church communication to move beyond the walls. Each user gets a personal page, or profile, and can add photos, text or information. People can then share pages with each other and create groups centered on hobbies and activities Unifyer is the future of church communication and community on the web.
  2. How do I get started?  Visit www.fbcunifyer.com. Click the “register” button to navigate to the registration page. Once you have entered the registration, click the “return to the Unifyer” button.  Enter your new profile (what you used on the registration page) and click login.
  3. Is there a cost to use Unifyer?  No, there is not a fee to use Unifyer. 
  4. Who can use Unifyer?  Our hope is that Unifyer can be used by people with a connection to FBC McKinney as a tool to build community.
  5. Can Unifyer be used on any computer or network?  Yes, anyone that has access to the Internet can use Unifyer.  Users with a broadband connection will have a better experience, but everyone should be able to access the site.
  6. How do I view media or other information?   Refer to our “how to” section for more detailed instructions. Media can be found in posts of news feed, blogs or groups. To view media simply click on the picture or video.
  7. What’s the difference between a news feed and a group?  A news feed is usually a church-wide ministry or event and is maintained by FBC staff. A group can be created by anyone and is designed as a way to connect with others around similar likes or dislikes. Anyone within the group can contribute to the group.
  8. How can I view someone else’s blog or profile?  When you ask someone to be your friend (do this by dragging their name to the center group of rectangles in the friend section), they must accept the invitation. Once they do this you can share information and view each other’s profiles.
  9. Can I delete a post?  Yes you can manage posts within your group or profile that you add. However, you cannot remove an existing post. If you find a post offensive please flag it!
  10. What is the limit to the amount of video or pictures I can add?  Videos and pictures are limited to 25MB. At this moment there is no limit to the number of pictures or video you can add to your profile.
  11. How to I notify someone of inappropriate material on Unifyer?  Our staff is constantly monitoring information and will remove posts and media that are viewed as inappropriate. If you find material please flag the section by clicking the flag at the bottom of the Unifyer. The FBC staff will then be notified of the offensive material.
 
 
 News feed: A general announcement created and supported by FBC McKinney
 Group: A collection of Unifyer users focused on similar interests such as single adults, horseback riding or quilting. These are created and run by the community at large and not necessarily FBC McKinney.
 Friends: These are people you have added to your profile that will be able to read and share information with you.
 My Profile: Your personal page within Unifyer. You can add text, announcements, photos or other media to this section.
 Notifications: These are announcements or changes that have been made to a friend, group or news feed you are subscribed to. You can check your notifications by clicking the envelope next to your name in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
 Widget: The icons or activity buttons you are able to drag over are referred to as “widgets”
 Comments: Comments can be left at each post. A comment is a short reply to a post that has been made about a news feed, activity or personal blog.
 Archive: A list of past posts that have been created within a news feed, blog or group.
 Media: Pictures or videos that have been added to a news feed, blog or group.
 Documents: Downloadable information that is posted. 
 Browse All: Allows you to look at all the changes and posts that have been made to a section of Unifyer such as groups or news feeds.
