First Baptist McKinney is a church that will defy the typical conceptions of what a "First Baptist Church" has been known to feel and look like. Below you will find answers to many commonly asked questions about our church.

When are your worship services?
You have a choice in which service you want to participate in.
On the Louisiana St. campus there are several choices;
      • 8:30 am, 9:50am, and 11:10am in the Worship Center
      • 9:50am and 11:10 am in the Gym  (New Community)
Our North Campus meets at Scott Johnson Middle School.  The doors open at 9:30am.  Go to www.fmnorth.com for more information.

What am I expected to wear?
Please dress in the way you feel most comfortable. Members of First wear anything from jeans to suits. Your clothing isn't important to God; your willing and open heart is. Come dressed comfortably, but come ready to experience the presence God!

Is there a place for my child?
Preschool Age
Wonderful child care is available during all three service times. Children are welcomed by teachers who desire to show God's love through age-appropriate activities, songs and Bible lessons. The child care area is a secure area, requiring ID badges on all who enter. You can sign in and receive a visitor badge in the lobby of the Children's Building. The teachers in your child's room will check that your badge number matches your child's before releasing the child.
Elementary School Age
There are Bible Fellowship Groups available for 1st-3rd grade upstairs in the Children's Building. The 4th and 5th graders will meet in the "The Attic," located in the balcony classrooms on the second floor behind the Worship Center.  The children's area is a secure area, requiring ID badges on all who enter which can be obtained in the upstairs lobby of the Children's Building and "The Attic."

Do I need to bring anything to church?
No, but we are a Bible-teaching church. So, if you happen to own a Bible you may want to bring it. If not, we have Bibles available. During our services we usually place the scripture on the screens in the front of our Worship Center.

Will I be singled out during the service?
No. Some Sundays we may have a short time in which the congregation is given a chance to greet one another, but never will you have to stand and introduce yourself.

What are the worship services like?
During a worship service you will witness the use of many components. A typical format may include the following: musical prelude to help you prepare your heart, a welcome from a FBC staff member, worship through music, the message from the Bible, worship through an offering, and a closing song. You could see drama, special musical events and multimedia (video, Powerpoint, etc.)

What is the music like?
First Baptist is a community consisting of people from many generations. Each Sunday we try to accomodate as many worshippers as we can. That means you will experience contemporary praise songs with traditional hymns put to contemporary music. All three services are created to be creative and dynamic. Worship is meant to be genuine, so FBC uses all sorts of formats to accomplish that. The worship time is a team effort made up of musicians, actors, choir and praise teams of all ages.

Where do I park?
We have designated guest parking in the very front of the building just off of Louisiana Street. Parking attendants will help you in finding your way to the Welcome Center. If you have children, you are invited to park next to our brand new Children's Building located in the south parking area.

FBC is a large church, so where do I go?
There are information kiosks located all throughout the campus, but you may choose to park in the visitor's parking and enter the doors closest to the steeple. Here you can receive assistance in finding your way to the Worship Center and children's area. The Connection is an information area located in between the main building and our Family Sports Center. Here you can find information on all activities and ministries associated with FBC. Greeters are stationed all along your journey to assist you with any questions you may have.

I am a nursing mother; is there a place to feed my child?
There is a nursing mother's room in the Children's Building near the infant nursery rooms. There is also a loveseat in the Ladies' Restroom just behind the Worship Center near the Choir Room.
