MembershipHere are the simple steps to begin the process of joining this community (How do I become a member of FBC):
FBC McKinney Member Commitment
1) Join the Church Becoming a covenant member with FBC is easy, and becomes one of the best ways to get connected with everything here at the FBC. You can join the church in our HOSPITLAITY ROOM, located next to our "Connection" The Connection is the large gathering space connecting the main building with the Family Sports Center. Just speak with one of friendly people and he or she will be more than happy to take down your information and briefly discuss with you the particulars about church membership. 2) Meet Your Family We will introduce you to your new church family via technology! Some people are very uncomfortable standing in front of hundreds of people. This does not reflect a lack of commitment or faith. It actually reflects personality or personal preference. So, on the Sunday following the decision made, we show pictures of those who made decisions the week before so that your new church family can say “yes!” to your decision and get to know you a little. 3) Get Connected - find a group We can help you our you can look through download the list and find one on your own. In a group, you will study God’s Word, find your place of service, and enter into accountable, life-giving relationships that are critical to spiritual growth. The Different Ways People Join FBC McKinney 4) Serve in the Church and Community. We encourage to share what has happened in your life and FBC. One of the best ways to do this is by using your gifts and talents to serve in the church and our community. There are multiple ways you can get involved. Contact a minister in the area you are interested in and they will tell you how you can begin. The Different ways to "become a member"? When a person presents himself/herself for membership in First Baptist Church, the person shall be received under any of the following scenarios: • By profession of faith as personal Lord and Savior and as a candidate for baptism and upon their baptism into full membership of the church. • By letter of membership from another Baptist church stating that you have been baptized and have been a member of another Baptist church. When you join, our church office will contact your former church to let them know that you have joined here. We will request a “letter” from your former church, which is essentially a record of your membership there. This will allow us to add you to our membership roll and for them to take you off of their roll. • By statement of a prior conversion and previous believer’s baptism and membership in a Baptist church. • By affirmation of baptism stating that your profession of faith in Christ as personal Savior followed by immersion baptism was in agreement with the Biblical principles of Believer’s Baptism by immersion as a symbol. |
