Who is FBC

The key to the future is to unlock the past. From the very beginning of its history over a century ago, missions and evangelism have been the driving forces of First Baptist Church, McKinney. On August 11, 1872, thirteen people met at the Collin County Courthouse and pledged to organize The First Baptist Church of McKinney, Texas.  Over 136 years later the DNA that was formed then is still found in the ministries of First McKinney and in a congregation that with prayer and sacrifice follows God wherever He leads.  Through several different styles and experiences there are multiple ways for a family or individual to get involved via different worship styles. Through family-focused ministries and events, the love of God is transforming lives with the walls of FBC and beyond.

Through dynamic teaching and missional leadership
FBC is leaving a legacy here and around the world.  Family-focused ministries and events are the core to a missional church that seeks to impact both the people within the walls of the church, and the community outside.  Through focused activities, including 15 missions trips a year, countless service projects, and thousands of donors who give to benevolent causes, we seek to be a blessing in action and words to those who are not blessed.

First Baptist McKinney's vision is to be a church of influence
-- a church whose message is so clear that lives are constantly being changed by the power of the Gospel.  Our first priority is prayer. We are constantly calling out for the power of God to transform lives. Secondly, we are devoted to oneness in community. First Baptist McKinney is a church where all people are accepted and loved regardless of age, race, or background.  We strive to build Christ-centered homes whose members are committed to on-going spiritual formation in their lives and are constantly devoting themselves to the ministries of the church.  We are also committed to establishing other apostolic churches devoted to caring for the physical and spiritual needs of the poor.  And lastly, we are very committed to raising, training and empowering a gift-based leadership generation where every member becomes a minister.
